In the work many of the images are concerned with the flight of the human mind, dreams, the area between waking and sleeping.

‘Tales of Flight ‘ is a bookwork which contains drawings of images connected with flight, sleep including an angel, a winged horse and Hypnos the god of sleep.

Other images are familiar such as heads, horses, angels and can be interpreted in many different ways. These images are constantly re-employed in visual art, mythology, folklore and literature. Text is cross written in some pieces – this is a technique that was used in letter writing when paper was a scarce commodity.

The words express different meanings related to the objects from dictionary definitions to poetry. The text becomes a pattern of inter-connecting language around the images.
